From the Estate Shop or the Terrace at the Country Club, follow the signs for the Parkland through the Walled Garden to the gate in the wall. Once through the gate, follow the path to the left until the path ends with the Deer Park in front of you and a bench on your right. Turn right here and the lectern will be in front of you. From Swinton Park, turn right out of the Turret and walk up the hill with the aviary on your right, head along the yew avenue until you get to the hand gate, and the lectern will be in front of you. Walk up the slope with the Deer Park on your left, you will normally see the deer grazing nearby. You will reach a fork in the path and from here you fork right so that Coffin Pond is on your left. There is a Bird Hide on your right you are welcome to visit. Look out for the Anglo Saxon coffins under the trees on your right and the old boathouse. Follow the path over the bridge and up the hill to reach the next fork. The Dales View route is a 2.3 mile circular walk that can take up to 1.25 hours. It takes you past Coffin Pond and includes a lovely view of Top Lake. The highlight is the lovely view up to the moors and across to the villages of Fearby and Healey once you emerge from the woodland and walk through the field. From here continue on the path towards Top Lake, ignoring the left hand fork. The path will bring you to the shore of the lake and the information lectern. With the lake on your left, you will see – almost immediately – a right hand turn for Dales View. The path from here takes you through the woods and then out into an open field. Follow the markers diagonally across the field. When you reach the gate on the other side, make sure to take in the lovely view behind you looking towards Colsterdale and the moors, and the villages of Fearby and Healey on your right. From here, continue along the path with the trees on your right, turning left where it meets a track and then almost immediately right so that you are on the path that skirts around Lily Pond (with the pond on your right). This path then joins the track where you turn left for Coffin Pond, and from here you retrace your steps back to the start of your walk.
