Turn left out of Swinton Swinton Country Club’s car park. Take the first right after Masham Trekking Centre, staying on this road until you reach the crossroad, known as Fearby Cross. Turn left and continue on the road through the villages of Fearby and Healey. After you have left Healey, take the first right turn.
Turn left at the next junction down a very steep hill (this might involve a push on the way back!). At next junction turn left onto a busy road for a very short distance. The car park for Jervaulx is on the left and pedestrian entrance to the Abbey is on your right.
To return to the Swinton Country Club, retrace your route or take the main road back to Masham and visit Brymor Ice Cream parlour along the way. Although it is a flatter return route it is a fairly busy A road. Upon entering Masham, keep on the road. Co-op will be on your right and take the first right turn to go in front of a row of houses. Continue on this road until you reach Masham market place. Follow the road around the market place until you reach Swinton Terrace. Turn right onto Swinton Terrace following the road until you reach Swinton Park. Follow the road right around the wall to the Country Club.
