Turn left out of Swinton Country Club’s car park. Take the first right after Masham Trekking Centre, staying on this road until you reach the crossroad, known as Fearby Cross. Turn left and continue on the road through the villages of Fearby and Healey. Continue on the road until you reach Leighton Reservoir on your left. Go over bridge. The road starts to climb and veer right up the hill. Take the left hand fork (marked dead end) and follow the road to where it meets the reservoir dam. Cross the dam and take in the view of Roundhill Reservoir on the right. Retrace your steps back to the main road. Here you have the option to return to the Swinton Country Club or turn left up the hill to cycle onto the moors. At the top of the hill you will go over a cattle grid, you are now on the open moor. Go as far as you want to, but stop at the second cattle grid, this is the boundary of the Estate. Do NOT continue beyond this point unless you want to go down a very steep hill into Nidderdale. To return to the Swinton Country Club, follow the same route back.
